I know leaving your home and pets in someone else’s care is a big decision. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about Sits and Giggles, my services, and how everything works. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, please reach out—I'm always happy to chat and make sure you feel confident and comfortable before booking.

How does booking work?

Start by sending your dates, location, and a little about your pets or home. We’ll arrange a meet & greet (in person or virtual), go over routines and expectations, and confirm your booking with a simple agreement and deposit.

What’s included in each service?

Every booking includes home care (security, cleaning, bins, mail, plant watering) and, if pets are involved, daily feeding, walks, medication, litter/bathroom cleanup, and regular updates. Custom sits are tailored to your unique needs.

What makes Sits and Giggles different from other sitters?

Sits and Giggles is a premium, boutique service—fully insured, animal first aid certified, and backed by 12+ years of experience and excellent references. I offer tailored routines, frequent updates, and a spotless homecoming, so you can travel with total peace of mind.

What am I paying for?

You’re investing in reliability, professionalism, and genuine care for your pets and home. Every booking includes personalised attention, clear communication, and a commitment to leaving your space even better than I found it.

How is pricing determined?

House sitting rates depend on your home’s size and care needs ($49–$59/night). Pet & house sitting rates start at $69/night for cats and $89/night for dogs or mixed households (up to two pets). Extra pets, complex needs, peak periods, and challenging or large dogs may incur additional fees. All rates are confirmed before booking—no surprises.

How does pet pricing work for multiple pets or special needs?

Standard rates cover up to two pets (dogs, or a mix of dogs and cats). For more than two pets, add $10/night per extra pet. If your dog is particularly large, strong, or requires extra time and care, a small additional fee may apply. We’ll discuss all details upfront so you know exactly what to expect.

Do you offer discounts or custom quotes?

Yes! Bookings over 7 nights receive a special long-stay rate, and I’m always happy to discuss custom quotes for unique situations or extended needs.

Are you insured and qualified?

Absolutely. I’m fully insured and certified in animal first aid, with over 12 years of experience, excellent references available and I have a police check.

Do you bring your own pets?

No—I don’t travel with pets of my own, ensuring my full attention is on your home and animals.

Will having a sitter increase my utility bills? Do you discount for amenities?

For most bookings under 7 days, my rates are designed to fairly reflect the professional care, security, and peace of mind I provide—while also respecting your home and resources. I’m mindful about using amenities: showers are quick (typically 1–2 per day), I use heating/cooling only as needed, and I’m careful with lights and appliances. On average, the extra utility cost is minimal—often less than $1–$2 per day for electricity and around $0.20–$0.30 per day for water, based on typical Australian household usage. For longer bookings (over 21 days), I’m always happy to discuss a tailored rate or offer a discount to reflect increased utility use. If you have specific preferences or concerns, just let me know—we’ll find a solution that works for everyone.

Does your partner join you?

Yes (with your permission and after meeting him) my partner J joins me for around 85% of bookings. We have done sitting together for 3 years and he is a great extra pair of calm, capable hands - for no extra cost!

What areas do you service?

We offer house and pet sitting across Australia. If you’re unsure whether your location is covered, just ask! (We're also open to international locations, so if you're not in Australia and you're reading this - still, message me - you never know!)

What if my pets have special medical or behavioural needs?

I have experience with senior pets, medication administration, and animals with special routines. Please mention any needs when enquiring so I can tailor care and pricing accordingly.

Will I get updates while I’m away?

You’ll receive regular updates—photos, messages, and anything else that helps you relax while you’re away. Just let me know your preferred style of communication.

What if my plans change or I need to cancel?

Life happens! Please let me know as soon as possible. I’ll do my best to accommodate changes, and my cancellation policy will be clearly outlined before booking.

What is your Service Quality Guarantee?

Your peace of mind is my top priority. If you’re not completely happy with my service, just let me know within 24 hours of your return—I’ll do everything I can to make it right, including a partial or full refund if needed. I promise: Clear, open communication before, during, and after your booking. A home left as clean (or cleaner!) than you left it. Pets cared for with patience, love, and professionalism.
